Improvement all the way around

Cooper is continuing to improve little by little.  He is eating small amounts of rice & moving around a bit better (he's been very stiff).  Still no idea of what exactly he got into.  I wish Brian would agree to fence in part of the yard for him or walk him on a leash instead of letting him run loose.

With all the 'excitement' about Cooper I forgot to mention about me!

Friday morning I saw my oral surgeon again.  He is really pleased with all my progress!  I am now off of all the antibiotics (I hope that yucky taste in my mouth goes away soon).  The doctor thanked me for my patience in dealing with all the complications.  He asked about how I faired with work (all sick leave paid) & asked to see me back in 2 months time to evaluate the scar.  He mentioned the possibility of injecting the scar with steroids; which will be painful.  If anything seems amiss, I am to call them immediately.  He asked me to massage the scarred & swollen area often to help the lymph node recover & to break up the scar tissue in my cheek.  I asked him if the various scar remedies that are being sold are worth the money.  He said absolutely; that research has proven that they are effective.

It is so nice not to have to have a bandage on my face any more or take 16 pills a day or be in so much pain!

Tonight we will have dinner with [profile] 1painter42 & her husband.  It will be nice to get out of the house as well as visit with good friends.

I am so glad you and Cooper are recovering , hope it all keeps going in the right direction. Gotta get the big guy to help massage your cheek!

I used Mederma on a scar from minor surgery last year; it's expensive, but worth it.

Didn't think to use it on the major surgery scars . . .
