Busy day
A whole day pretty much to myself... the ex is working for his brother today driving a dump truck. I decided to be busy & work on the house. Well, OK, I snuck a little EverQuest time this morning between chores so that I could hunt with our friend "Jin" (Scott).
The morning found me weeding & mulching the decorative grasses we are encouraging to grow along the road. Once they get big enough, they will afford us more privacy as well as (hopefully) screening some of the dust that is kicked up by the gravel road. The whole process took me far longer than expected, but it looks good & hopefully the grasses will thrive now.
I also checked in on our fig tree... it was overdue for weeding & mulching too, so I gave it the full treatment. The figs on last year's limb are turning purple, while the fruit on this year's limb are still green. I hope Mother Nature cooperates & lets the figs mature so that we can enjoy them.
Baking in the oven is a low-carb blueberry bread. I've not made one in a long time, so it should prove to be a yummy treat. I already have the butter out so that it will be ready to spread on the first hot slice.
My thoughts are turning to MD Ren Faire. I can't wait to go & have fun. I am hoping to go more than once this year; the ex's limit is once per year, I'll have to find another partner in crime! My sister tells me Faire is dry & dusty, hopefully they will get some rain before I make the trip up there.
Time to get back to my busy work!
