Christmas catch-up
It seems that as of late, there is no longer enough hours in the day to keep my journal updated as often as I might like so I must hope that my blathering here is enough for us both.
daecabhir and I are fortunate enough to be able to celebrate Christmas twice - once on Christmas eve with
dreamtigress and
njzoomom and then again with the Messick/Nguyen clan on Christmas day.
Christmas eve found us enjoying prime rib, REAL beef stroganoff (made with fake beef, but real mushrooms), fresh asparagus, cheese-broccoli casserole, and roasted fingerling potatoes with carrot pudding and crepes for dessert. Lots of presents were opened after dinner and I was once again amazed at the thoughtfulness and generosity of my mate and family.
On Christmas morning, we opened a few presents in bed as is our new tradition and then after a yummy breakfast, hit the road for Maryland. Our day included a kilt fashion show, a time out for
daecabhir, girlie hair brush time with Noelle and lots of good giggles.
Even more than I could have imagined, it is wonderfully gratifying to see my knitted presents delighting the recipients.
