A few tidbits from faire

This year's faire experience was a quite different one, in large part to my view of faire being from a different booth - Tessem Stoneware. Pottery customers are different from mask customers - there is little actual selling. Just answer some questions (Yes, it can go in the dishwasher. Really. Have I lied to you before?) and move on to the next person with cash in hand.

Here are a few soundbites from my days of peddling pots...

  • "He's blonde ... not black!" - Random lady in front of the booth

  • "Always check before you commit." Overheard by [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir at the privs

  • "I don't have the right tools so I am always bloody." - Terry Tessum

  • "I'd love to see your crack!" -Terry Tessum to a customer with a broken mug

  • "There's a pisser on the left! Does anyone want me to hold anything?" - Drunk patron to his friends

  • That's a mortar and pestle; not a Mordor and pedestal." - me

  • "Yes, the sign [sex is better when you own Tessem Stoneware] is correct. I have lots of pottery in my house and I am always smiling." - me

  • "... if you're dumb enough to be a potter!" - Terry Tessum
