Lucky number day
Today's date is 413 which is my lucky number!
My luck did not have any affect on the weather however since it was an overcast day that was a bit on the raw side. Twice when I went out to do some yard work it started drizzling, so I just gave up on that idea and focused instead on inside projects.
The third and final deadbolt is installed in the basement. I will probably re-do the striker plate part at some point since it is a tight fit and could use a shim between the door frame and the stud. I will also swap out the long screws that hold the inside plate because the screws it came with were too long by a half of an inch since the "wall" there is concrete. The screws I used instead are okay but I can get better.
The great shower-head swap of 2010 is complete, but I would like to go with my original plan of having the hand-held fixture above the fixed shower-head. This will take some creative pipe measures for which I do not really have the tools.
Other projects that got accomplished include finding some new bread machine recipes, baking a loaf of very yummy rye bread, putting easy-slide casters on the cedar chest, documenting what is missing from my Craftsman socket set, and other various little house chores that have been neglected with the nice weather.
Since the day was a little chilly and night-time temperatures will be even colder, I have a fire going in the wood stove.
The dogs seem to be doing better now that they are on cough medicine and antibiotics.
After emailing the owner of ABR about what I feel I can do for the company, she gave me a call. We set up a time on Thursday to discuss things further; she says she really wants me on board.
Tomorrow morning I have an interview in Warrenton with a marketing firm named Infocus. They seem to do mostly list brokerage. This is the position that I have been talking to an agency about until now.
The ex called this afternoon to inform me that he had signed the settlement agreement. He will not sign any of the paperwork that I need him to sign (for the mortgage, my IRA, etc.) until after he learns from his lawyer that I have signed the agreement. This could take another two weeks or so at best since his lawyer only deals in snail mail it seems. Once he does find out that the agreement is a done deal, we will meet in a neutral location so that he can sign papers and we can exchange some miscellaneous stuff. He claims the scope on my Kimber rifle was not given to me and he has asked for it back; he owes me money and needs to return several of things of mine that he took from the house.
The ex also let me know that while his lawyer did not agree, they have left the separation date alone in the agreement which is October 1, 2009. This means that as soon as the settlement agreement is finalized, we can file for divorce.
