Our household grows AGAIN!

Yesterday we adopted a new furry addition to our household. Our new furry does not yet have a name but she is certainly a little cutie. She has a cream-colored head & a white body with a few little stray cream spots, a long tail, perky little ears. She likes very much to hang out wrapped around our necks.

For the curious, our new pet is a rat. Yes, you read correctly, a rat. Before you get all crazy on me, please note that domestic rats & wild rats are very different. I had a pet rat when I was younger. She was an "Irish Hooded" named Patty-Rat. And, yes there are different species of rats with distinct colors, color patterns & fur varieties. There are rat shows, much like dog shows where they are judged on confirmation & such.

After a bit of checking, it seems our nameless rodent is a Beige Barebacked Standard in rat breed-speak.

What a good Rat

OK, so now I'm curious. Do you have to take your rat out to do its busy or is it potty trained? I'm guessing this rat lives in a cage(lucky thing)or does it have free run of the house? Seriously, do you treat like a hampster or bunny rabbit?
As far as barfi goes my dear, its an Indian food that Tempest knew about and introduced me too. Its quite good and tasty. Other than that I have no idea what is in it.

Did you ever name the new dog?
Barfi is a sweet dish with the consistancy of fudge, but it is not chocolate.
I suggest the name, "Barfi" for the rat.

I suggest Sauce as the name for the new rat. Like Applesauce ? Or au jus sauce !
