Thank Goddess It's Freaking Friday!

Also, thanks to my Mom for meeting me at the house tonight. She had dinner with me and took the pups for the weekend so that i can go Revel Grove and forget all about my job for two days.

Speaking of work, it was busy, but not overly crazy. Of course, I had enough interruptions with mundane stuff and meetings that I did not get much done.

Have not spoken much about EverQuest lately ... I hardly play any more and frankly I don't miss it. I have been keeping up with my guide commitments so that I can keep my play account for free. This week I ran two quests and came home tonight to three emails from my superiors because they don't like what I did when I ran the quest. I am wondering if I should just tell them to stuff their game up their arse.

Ah well, there are much better things to think of!

This is the email that I received from my Senior Guide ...


Greetings Bharani-

It is with a heavy heart, I come to you today. I am not very well versed in this type of Email.

I have spoken to your peers, reviewed all your quizzes and tests. I have checked your work and DSR’s.

Armed with all of this information, it seems we cannot allow this type of behavior to continue.

I am very sorry to be the one to tell you that you are no longer allowed to be an Apprentice on The Tribunal. The guide program is quite picky about who we want to represent us..

What does this mean for you, well, you will no longer be able to mentor, quest, or RP for the Tribunal as an apprentice…

So if it’s ok with you, Candoor and I have spoken ... and I have decided to let you go…..

Well, not really. A star was buffed would be more technically accurate. In fact, it was just me.

My guide character (Bharani) was buffed this morning. Living up to her name, she already is causing troubles as not all of her game flags are working properly. The issue has been escalated to Sony and the nice person who takes care of guide accounts. My Senior has been doing this for 3 years and has never seen this issue before.

As part of my orientation, I learned about some former guides that died during their service. Due to their contributions, their guide characters have been immortalized in game and they reside in the special zone where only guides can visit. Two of the guides were killed by drunk drivers, another had a heart attack at a young age and one was a lady who become a doctor in an effort to cure her own disease - sadly passing in her 20's.

It's just a game ... but wow.

Because we were able to finish my orientation, my Senior was able to include me in a quest they were running. So my first day was a busy one! It was fun to watch things unfold and nice to be able to help just a wee bit.

After a foggy start, the sun came out and the sky is blue. What a wonderful change from the dreary rain of the week. With the temperature rising to 65 degrees, I have had the front door open for a bit for some fresh air.

The effects from my procedure are pretty much gone and I took the last of the antibiotics this morning. As long as nothing changes, I'll see the doctor for a follow up after right Thanksgiving.

With the weather so warm and me still not able to bath Tucker by myself in the tub, I made the executive decision to bath him outside; taking care that the water was nice and warm and a towel was ready to get him dry ASAP. I am recovering from the bath as I sit and write this - not that Tucker was that bad, but it is just a bit of chore with his size.

Before bath time we did have some tub training. This time, I put a bath mat on the bottom of the tub to help keep him from sliding. With a biscuit as a bait, I worked with him until he was pretty freely jumping into the tub. Of course getting him to stay in the tub with running water will be an entirely different matter!

After Friday's EQ training session, I received my guide account information and log in to the super-secret guide boards this morning. While I can seem to log into my guide account yet, I am on my way.

Young Mr. Rat (who still needs a name) seems to be well. He has eaten some apple and eggbeater for me and he likes spending time in Brian's pocket. He perks right up when I greet him. Now to find him a suitable name.
