Today did indeed turn out to be my last day at work. My boss waited until 2:30 or so to speak with me. Not only did that prevent me from leaving early (indeed, I worked late on my last day!) but I also missed saying goodbye and thank you to my first shift staff.

Turns out after all the craziness and whatnot, I am leaving on a very good note with my now-former-employer singing my praises and willing to do so in writing if needed. She says she is trying to find a way to do some projects with me, perhaps in marketing, that would allow us to work together in the future. I'm very grateful that this did not go up in flames as I fear it would have had I not resigned.

Lots of hugs and well wishes from my second shift crew made me leave the building smiling.

Had dinner with Mom tonight since she dropped off goodies for me to take to MDRF with me in the morning and to take my dogs to her place for safe keeping.

This weekend is the last days of MDRF - always a bittersweet occasion. While I miss seeing friends every weekend and all the other wonderful trappings of faire, it will be fantastic to sleep in on the weekends as well as to get in the woods and do some hunting.

Still no chat with the boss lady. Wacky day at work for just about everyday though. I found out this afternoon that the guy that I thought was taking my place isn't. Of course, that is who I have been training though. Instead the guy I hired as my first shift supervisor will take my place and they have already hired someone to take his place.

At any rate, I am just planning on tomorrow being my last day.

Some of the girls on the production floor have asked me to have Chinese food with them (they order in every payday) and I plan on taking them up on it. I also plan on taking in my resume to the head of the government department since she has me to bring it in for her.

Enjoyed a few more figs off the tree this evening when I got home. Not sure if there will be anymore that ripen.

Actually chatted with my boss for a minute or so today. She even knocked on my window to wave hello this morning. Basically she let me know that she has not forgotten me and hopes we have a chance to chat, maybe over lunch or something. Stay tuned.

The crud is still with me - my head is stuffy and I am tired - but I am feeling a bit better each day. I wonder if this is a new sickness or the beach cold coming back with a vengeance. Made a nice hot cup of tea to sip this evening.

Puny

Started feeling puny this morning. Left work an hour early (with half my production team out, I had to show up) and came home for a little nap. Met Mom in Culpeper for the great dog and pork chop exchange, then got a haircut and went grocery shopping.

And now ... girl dog go boom. Hopefully girl dog is better enough in the morning to go to MDRF.

And NO, my boss has yet to speak with me. If there is an unprofessional boss of the year contest, she is a shoo-in.
pandasheart: I am pony! Hear me roar! (rapidash)
Okay, it's becoming sort of humorous in a macabre way ... my boss has yet to speak to me about my resignation from production/operations and what (if any) plans she might have for me. Maybe she thinks that if she ignores me I will go away. Guess what. I will!

muhahahaha

My attorney emailed me to say that she was dropping the documents that she has into the mail to me and has submitted the name change order to the court so that they can correct it.

Enjoyed a half dozen figs from the tree tonight. If I am lucky there may some more ripe on Monday when I can check the tree again.

Only two more weekends of faire to go. While I will miss it greatly, I am looking forward to sleeping in, getting some things done around the house, and going hunting.

Turns out the girl with the beagle puppy needs to prove ownership of him because she has split from her beau and he is threatening to take her to court over the dog. Told her that I will gladly help her out. hehe

No chat with the boss as of yet so I have no idea if I am staying beyond the transition to the new manager. The Fuck-up Fairy (tm) struck again in several places and it only served to remind that I am doing the right thing by jumping off the sinking ship of production management for this company.

Even though I had planned on leaving work on time, I ended up staying two hours late because I was helping with a few things. Bleh!

As I was typing the above, the dogs got my attention. It seems that Tucker had sat down on Duchess' head and Duchess has Tucker's back leg in her mouth. My dogs are weird.

My attorney has yet to contact the court regarding my name change. Argh!

Yesterday I enjoyed several figs from my tree; I have to remember to check it again tomorrow.

Today I received an email from one of the people that bought a beagle puppy back in 2007. She was wondering if I still had a copy of her check. While I don't have access to it anymore, I offered to create a receipt for her and asked why she needed it after all this time. Curious indeed!

I was too tired by the time I got home to go grocery shopping, but I am wide awake at 10:30 pm when I should be sleeping. Go figure!

The boss was too busy to sit down with me and have a chat today but she says she trusts my replacement and I to sort things out in regards to the transition between he and I. Made some announcements of said transition to staff today. The production floor folks seemed to be much more concerned over it than the office staff. One of my operators told me he would miss me very much and that I was a nice boss (he added, you even learned our names). Once I depart ABR I will miss my guys on the floor much more than folks in the office.

Changed the rat cage tonight and found evidence of the mites that Mom had trouble with. UGH! After thoroughly scrubbing the tank and checking the rats over carefully, I scrubbed me.

When I dashing out this afternoon to grab a sandwich, I was stopped at a traffic light and some old guy hollers over to me, "Are you happy now?" It took me a second to realize that he had read the Endeavour's window! I shouted back "Yes, I am!" and got a thumb's up.

No sign of the court paperwork from my attorney yet. Of course, no word from Brian's lawyer about repayment.

Duchess has a new habit of sitting on top of Tucker. While I have typing away here, she straddles a lying down Tucker and then starts to hump! OY!

Was too tired to post last night when I got home from faire, so here I am.

After much debating, soul searching, comparing notes, etc. I decided to preemptively write my boss to resign from my current position with the company yesterday. Gambling on the fact that if I was gracious to her, she would return the favor. It worked. We've not talked face-to-face yet (that comes tomorrow) but I hope things stay on an even keel.

Once again, I am honored and grateful to have wonderful friends who care a great deal about me. Not to mention the bestest sister ever. The bestest Mom too.

The weather for faire this past weekend was marvelous. Good crowds on both days but the patrons were buying more on Sunday it seemed. [livejournal.com profile] dreamtigress had a pretty good weekend overall. Hopefully the last two weekends will prove to be profitable for her.

The "just divorced" signage on the Endeavour's windows continue to provide amusement. More pictures, thumbs up, clapping and smiles were bestowed by various and sundry travelers. Last night on the way home (in the dark) someone driving by was taking flash pictures of my SUV as I drove by and on the way home this evening, a guy driving behind me was taking pictures of the Endeavour while he was driving. Not so safe! I wonder how many times my scroll has been posted to Facebook by now. hehe

Perfect weather for faire this weekend. I wore the kilt again ... it is pretty awesome.

Got an email from my boss today; seems that she wants to speak with my tomorrow (yes, on Sunday). I am pretty sure that the purpose of the call will be to fire me. Resignation here I come...

Finally, I get a respite from work! Off to Revel Grove in the morning.

One of my warehouse guys told me that he had seen the Endeavour with its "just divorced" window decorations driving down the road and had not known it was mine. He posted a pic of it to his Facebook page!

Mom rescued a pit bull earlier in the week and (drum roll, please) the dog is pregnant! Puppies incoming soon by the looks of her. She's a very sweet chocolate brindle with a bit of white on her. Mom has dubbed her Shadow.

Fortunately my boss did a hit and run on the office this morning and never stopped in to see me. Despite the HR lady telling me that the boss was trying get in touch with me, I had no voice mails or emails from said boss. Just in case I needed more "writing on the wall", a meeting was held today about the mail mishap earlier in the week and not only was I not invited but my predecessor was.

Yes, my resume is updated.
Yes, I am looking.

In the good news department for tomorrow, I have one more day before the weekend, the boss will not be in and the Mexican contingency on the production floor is holding another baby shower tomorrow at lunch time.

When I came home this evening, the dogs were beyond happy to see me and I could hear a rumbling in the background. Seems that the roomba managed to turn itself on (I don't have it programmed yet) and was vacuuming away. At least my floors look better. LOL
pandasheart: (celt flame pony)
... I am still employed. Had a conference call with the boss first thing in the morning and then my day went mostly well. The boss will be in the office briefly tomorrow and then out until Tuesday. So stay tuned!

Someone out there must need a marketing lady or something, right?

Since I felt compelled to get out of the building for a bit today, I decided to head over to JoAnn's Fabric again to pick up the dusty rose silk essence that I had skipped getting the other day. Now I have enough fabric for THREE skirts. hehe

Had two hilarious phone calls this evening when I called to change my name. The first was with my long distance carrier and found out that the CSR is going through a divorce. Fifteen minutes later - after much laughter - she let me know that she will send me the name change form. The second call was to my insurance company for the house and the Endeavor. A very nice guy and I chatted for about 20 minutes about everything from motorcycles to baseball to Shea Stadium's demise. In the end, he saved me almost $80 on my auto policy and changed my name on everything.

A more serious phone call - but a pleasant one - was to my Auntie Anne and Uncle Joe to tell them the good news. They will be passing through this way in early November so we will plan to meet for Shepard's pie again at the Fredericksburg Pub.

Sigh

While I don't feel like recounting the drama at work today, suffice to say that I had a chat (if you can call it that) with my boss. Basically it was her screaming at me for 20 minutes. While I know that my gentle readers will caution me not to quit before I have another job, I am at the point where I feel it would be in my best interest to resign before I am fired. My boss is a lawyer and a shrewd cookie; I need to walk away from this job with a good reference.

bleh

Ran to CVS this evening to pick up some Allegra-D once I got the dogs and me fed. Since I was out, I also swung into Bloom (even though I hate the place) to pick up a few necessities. After spotting coconut milk in the dairy section, I just had to try it. Sadly, it is not as good as I hoped.

Ah well ... off to tend to some laundry before bed.
pandasheart: (whistlejacket)
Ready for a new job, that is! My boss, who isn't even in the same state, sent an email to the production team that made us collectively roll our eyes. In an attempt to appease her, I sent detailed notes of the team's meeting and then I completed the one action item that she told us she would do. I doubt it will help, but sheesh.

Just in case I was feeling good about actually getting some work done with her gone, somehow we managed to send about 4500 pieces of mail to the post office without it first going through the proper paperwork channels. This means that while we KNOW it is in the mail stream, we cannot prove it. Unless we can make it all better tomorrow, life is going to be a living hell at work for the foreseeable future.

On a much happier note, I have started changing my name in various places (the ones that will let me do it without the "official paperwork").

While out on a work errand during my lunch break I happened across a JoAnn's Fabric and popped in to see if they had the fabric that [livejournal.com profile] dreamtigress makes our spiffy skirts with. They had it in a wonderful assortment of colors and it was hard to not buy yards and yards of the stuff. I limited myself to only two colors and [livejournal.com profile] dreamtigress has threatened me with teaching me how to make my own skirts.

Four years ago today I rejoiced as I flew up in the sky with a man that I loved and we were married.

Four years later, I am once again rejoicing because my divorce to that man is final.

A call to the county clerk's office this morning revealed that the divorce decree was indeed signed on September 27 by the judge along with my name change request.

I guess that makes me a new woman two times over!

Mom and I had a wonderful dinner together and a glass of Lambic to celebrate. To sound like a sappy Hallmark card, I am so grateful for all the love and support from my family and friends. This past year has been so very trying for me and the I truly owe it to those who supported me.

On to drag things like work ... the boss was out sick for most of the day so I actually got some work done. Treated myself to lunch at Five Guys to celebrate the news. The most amazing thing is that I walked out of the office after an eight hour day. It felt so odd!

The rain has stopped and the wind has been blowing steady to help dry the ground.

While tomorrow is the first day of bow season, I have chosen to go to MDRF so that I can celebrate the good news with my sister and friends in Revel Grove.
pandasheart: (celt flame pony)
The Culpeper court site listed the divorce case status as "other" as opposed to yesterday when it was "active". There is also now a date (9/27/10) listed for the decree and the name change.

Maybe it's really done? Or maybe just in front of the judge? Or maybe just lost in the system?

There is seriously some bug-a-boo bad mojo thing at work. The new driver I hired yesterday? The one that started today? As of right now it doesn't look like we can get him on our insurance due to him racking up 4 tickets in less than 3 years. OY!

We're getting lots of much-needed rain during the week and the weather man is predicting a stunning weekend weather-wise.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (pony welcome)
Another mostly okay day at work. The boss is back but she pretty much ignored me all day. Hired a new driver for the afternoon shift; he starts tomorrow. Since I begged the production team out of meetings for a few days, it seems that we are actually getting some work done - fancy that!

There was a very pretty sunset on the way home tonight.

No news on the divorce front but I did figure out how to track the case online.
pandasheart: I am pony! Hear me roar! (rapidash)
A Monday where nothing significant blew up too badly and the boss out of town made for a fairly okay day at the office.

Right now my belly is too full of ravioli to think.
pandasheart: (whistlejacket)
Thank Goddess It's Freaking Friday!

Also, thanks to my Mom for meeting me at the house tonight. She had dinner with me and took the pups for the weekend so that i can go Revel Grove and forget all about my job for two days.

Speaking of work, it was busy, but not overly crazy. Of course, I had enough interruptions with mundane stuff and meetings that I did not get much done.

Have not spoken much about EverQuest lately ... I hardly play any more and frankly I don't miss it. I have been keeping up with my guide commitments so that I can keep my play account for free. This week I ran two quests and came home tonight to three emails from my superiors because they don't like what I did when I ran the quest. I am wondering if I should just tell them to stuff their game up their arse.

Ah well, there are much better things to think of!
pandasheart: (celt flame pony)
Tonight's moon is so bright as is Jupiter which is near by; very pretty!

Duchess is no longer limping, but she does think that she is a squirrel since she insists on picking up the acorns that are now falling from the oaks. Silly dog!

The Allegra-D seems to have cleared my head a great deal. The only symptom left is a mildly sore throat.

Heard from my attorney today ... opposing counsel JUST filed the decree with the court YESTERDAY. One month after he said he would do it. Seems that Brian hired a lawyer who procrastinates as bad he does.

Work was sort of okay, although I am not getting enough done. Between meetings, AC units breaking, trying to hire a new driver, revising procedures and trying to solve some security issues, I had little time left to knock some things off of my to do list - let alone worry about production!

One more day at work before I head back to Revel Grove. Hopefully nothing horrendous will happen.
