It's not that cold out, but I have been freezing all day. I better not be getting some sort of bug; with no one to take over for me on the 2nd shift & the weekend approaching I have to be healthy!
The mechanic that I didn't know that I had when I took over this temporary stint with the 2nd shift came in last night (for only the second time since I've been doing this) & gave me his 2-week notice. My gut feeling was to tell him that he could turn right around & go home, but since no one has ever really let me know where my boundaries lie, I kept my mouth shut. Of course, the first thing the VP says to me when I see her today is that I should have canned him on the spot.
Go freaking figure!
I also learned today that I didn't exist. Another thing that was omitted in the details of this 2nd shift position was that one of my responsibilities would be payroll stuff. As I was getting trained in the software today, we discovered that I am not in the system. Gosh, I've only worked here since July of 2004. Guess I should be really grateful that I have ever gotten a paycheck.
