Still breathing?
September 22nd, 2006 06:30 amYou bet!
In case I had forgotten (not really) we have some awesome friends. The words of encouragement that have been pouring in for my situation have humbled & honored me deeply.
After speaking with VEC (VA Employment Commission) yesterday, I feel a bit better about the paperwork that was handed to me from the CFO. A nice guy with an interesting speech thing going on told me that accepting the offered severance package will delay my getting unemployment benefits by 2 weeks, but will not impede benefits in any other way if I choose to apply. He suggested that I come see them on Monday & urged me to apply for benefits.
I have a few jobs to submit a resume for but the pickings are very slim in the local papers. I'm hopeful that Sunday's classifieds will bring more opportunities.
In other news, my main PC box has been hit with spyware again. I try to be so careful, but something got by us. A certain Tall Guy uses my PC sometimes, but I'm not going to blame him. << sweet & innocent smile >> Hopefully a download of AVG will cure the issue & I can go back to using my own computer instead of Brian's.
(The upside to me using Brian's PC all day is that the phone line is free!)
