As I am approaching the one-month mark of being unemployed, I am still waiting to hear from my former employer regarding my severance pay. I would just like to be done with them & not have to think about AKA any more. Even though I am sending out at least two resumes a week, I have not had a single interview. I'm not worried about this, if anything I am getting worried because I REALLY like staying home! hehe

Friday evening, Brian went bow hunting after work & hit a doe. He searched for her until it got too dark to do so & went back out with help first thing Saturday morning to look some more. The search went on for about 3 hours, but failed to turn up the doe. This sort of stuff really bothers us but I know that we go above & beyond what most hunters would do in trying to find a hit deer.

Saturday afternoon found us cuddling in the living room with a fire going watching a "Monk" DVD. This "Baby Monk" finds the 3rd season to be less entertaining as it progresses. There seems to be more fluff & less Monk. Makes no sense at all! For dinner, I made some bear stew using the last of the bear meat in the freezer. It came out pretty well if I say so myself.

Sunday morning Brian announced that he had a notion to cut up some of the fallen trees we have on the property. Of course, they've been down for a while, but I was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Bundling up in lots of clothes, we headed out with chain saws to slay the fallen trees. Brian keeps telling me that he will instruct me on chain saw usage & I keep declining. We managed to cut up two trees before lunch. We'll take care of splitting the wood some other time, but at least some progress has been made.

Sunday afternoon found us visiting some good friends out in Marshall that we have not seen in a while. Good chat, food & friends ~ what a great way to spend part of your day!

One day over the last few (Friday?), I heard the raucous cacophony of a murder of crows nearby. I poked my head out to see if I could get a glimpse of them, but they were well hidden in the trees behind the house. I enjoyed their loud & crazy music for quite some time. Eventually another murder came in to make even more music. Shortly thereafter, both murders must have taken off because the woods fell silent. I missed their company.
