pandasheart: I am pony! Hear me roar! (rapidash)
Mom & I ventured to Ikea today to do a little shopping. One main objective of this shopping trip was to procure shower curtain liners. Sounds a bit odd, I know, but Ikea sells these awesome shower curtains that are sort of rubbery in a silky sort of way (they don't stick to you or feel like plastic) & they are long enough for our shower stall.

It's always so much fun to poke around in all the neat displays that Ikea has set up in each department. New ideas, wacky items & sometimes just watching other people's reactions to it all is the best. Ikea people watching is good stuff.

Of course, we had Swedish meatballs for lunch!

One of our better finds were chair mat floor protector thingies for only $15. After Brian & I did the flooring, I shopped around for these & found that they are WAY expensive. Leave it to Ikea to manage to make a clear mat affordable.

We both picked up a few presents here & there. Can't tell you about them yet ... DUH!

We were surprised to see that all of their holiday items were already 50% off. Unfortunately, there was nothing really that excited either one of us.

Hello? It's not even Christmas yet! There are folks who have not decorated yet. (We have, but hey, some folks haven't.)

Happy, happy. Joy, joy. We found the shower curtain liners. It took a little doing, but we found them. Since they had been out of the ones I wanted on our last trip, I bought 3 of the suckers to hold me over. Mom bought some too.

Traffic was a bit heavy going home, but not that hideous. What a fun day ... hope I did not wear out Mom too badly!

ARGH!!!

The shower curtains that we bought yesterday are made for a bathtub, not a shower stall. They are way too short for me to use.

ARGH!!!

Spent a half hour taking down, putting up, re-taking down & re-putting up shower curtain liners.

ARGH!!!

Ikea graciously accepts returns ... just not sure when I will get back up there.

I sure hope they still make the one I want!

My ring is ready! My ring is ready! Off to town I go!

The ring looks gorgeous once more & the diamond is tight & all right. Shiny. Sparkly.

I need to do some research on the whole deal with the white gold going yellow on me so fast; maybe there is an alternative metal? When we asked the jeweler when we were shopping, we were told that platinum will also yellow. The plating is free, but at the rate I am turning the gold yellow, I will be without my engagement/ wedding ring 1 week out of every 8.

That sucks.

I try to do a bit of shopping since I am in the mall & everything, but just can't seem to get into the swing of things. I come home with sandpaper & my ring. What a goof!
