Wowzer! December 18th & it hit 80 degrees today. Now this is the sort of winter I moved to Virginia for!
The ex is home sick & went to the doctor today. Some sort of viral infection. He came home with an inhaler, day-time cough medicine, night-time cough medicine & nose spray. (He really hates the nose spray!) He is breathing much better & coughing less, but still feeling funky. He'll be home tomorrow as well per doctor's orders.
Started wrapping some presents even though I am not done with my shopping yet. ACK! How many days until Christmas? I need more time!
After a chat with the neighbors while I was getting the mail, I decided to hunt by myself at their place this afternoon. The weather was just too nice not to get out. They have been seeing a lot of deer in their backyard & do not mind if we hunt close to the house. In fact, they invited me to sit on their deck to hunt!
As nice as the offer of the deck was, I set up in the woods with a view of the areas the neighbors pointed out as where the deer come into their yard. Hunting without 4 layers of clothes on is so nice!
I had barely settled in when an extremely loud squirrel starting barking at me. Then it started screeching & barking. When it finally let up, I clucked at it & it returned with barks. We went back & forth at each other for a very long time. I've never had a squirrel put up such a ruckus for so long.
Had a few more squirrels move in ... too bad I was not squirrel hunting! Mr. Noisy Squirrel came back & started in with pitching a fit all over again. While I heard a lot of movement in the woods, I never saw any deer. Someone must have tipped them off!
