I am back at work with a LOT on my plate!
Monday found half of my day eaten by meetings. Turns out the feed bag design that, judging by the Assistant GM's reaction was a done deal, was rejected. Now I have to come up with 3 more comps, including ones that don't have any animals on the bag. That's right, animal feed bags with no animals. While this might work for Purina or some other huge company, I don't think it will work for a little farmers' co-op.
Also in the works is the monumental task of planning a month of activities for CFC's 75th anniversary. Of course, everything I do is times 6 since we have 6 locations.
The commercials that I wrote came in & after viewing them yesterday, they need a few tweaks, but I really like what the folks we are working with have done. They are under a huge time crunch since they are going on the air in about 2 weeks & need to get my commercials in the can ASAP. Hopefully my first round of edits will be the last for both our sakes.
Tonight, I will be working late as we are hosting a "wildlife night" geared at attracting deer & turkey using food plots. One of the assistant store managers & I have worked really hard to make this event special. We have folks coming in from various wildlife agencies & organizations, including a VA Game Warden. We'll be offering a BBQ dinner & door prizes in addition to the seminar.
Of course, I am still disseminating information from the trade show, writing up my purchase orders & getting the new merchandise I ordered into our systems. I wish I could have truly gone with my gut & purchased more of the items that I feel will be good sellers, but after my talks with Ed, I didn't feel I had the right to do so. Last night, I learned that the restaurant where I had dinner Saturday night has double charged my credit card. Ugh!
Brian & I have decided to celebrate our first wedding anniversary by inviting friends & family over since we did not have a wedding reception. I know some folks may have gotten a little put off by our "quickie" wedding, but it was always our plan to have a low-key celebration afterwards. We just didn't think it would be almost a year afterwards!
Brian bought & installed a whole house attic fan while I was in Vegas. He's wanted one for a while now so I am glad he did this project. It really does cool off the house quickly. The down side is that is sucks little bugs right through the screens!
