Back to work & stuff
December 27th, 2007 09:53 pmWe finally got into the key lime pie that Mom made for Christmas that we forgot about. Brian likes it & even plans on taking some with his lunch tomorrow. I'm not a key lime pie fan, but I licked the knife & while I am not ready to eat a slice, it tasted nice & 'fresh' & not too limey.
Work is ... well ... it's work. It seems there are more things underfoot again & I have no clue as to what is going on with a lot of it. They have 'officially' opened two store manager positions. One being the main store in Culpeper, which they have known about for a while now. The delay in announcing the position leads me to believe that they had a candidate in mind. The other opening is for our store out in Sperryville. hat store manager will be retiring at the end of March. Rumor had it (from my boss, no less) that they had a candidate for that store, so I am not sure if they are advertising the job to be PC or someone has changed their mind.
Speaking of my 'boss', he dropped a little bomb in my lap today that as part of my new responsibilities, I will be handling our sales flyer. This came as an "oh, by the way..." instead of sitting down with me & outlining my new job description or anything resembling a professional transfer of responsibility. After January 1, he if has not done something in regards to my position in the restructuring, I plan to sit him down & talk about it. Good thing HE is the boss!
It seems finding out stuff by happenstance is how this company works. It's one thing when it is news that has no bearing on what I do, but it gets mighty old when it directly affects me.
/whine on
I miss having my own office! I miss not being in the management loop! I miss a bigger paycheck!
