It's here!
December 30th, 2007 06:18 pmBefore the ex got to the bursting point, we trekked into town today to buy THE big screen TV.
After all of the research & shopping for prices & what-not, we chose a 42" Panasonic plasma. Sears had the best price ($999) but we had Best Buy match it because surprisingly enough the folks there seemed like they had a few more brain cells then the crew at our local Sears. (Plus Best Buy's price guarantee is a bit stronger.)
In addition to the TV, we ended up springing for a Panasonic surround sound package complete with a new 5-disc DVD player that will play music CDs & do a whole bunch of stuff that I will probably never figure out. We had a seen a great deal on a system at Costco & while Best Buy did not have the same model (their's was stronger), they came down on their price. We also got them to come down on the price of some cable that we needed. The biggest plus is that supposedly we can make the two remotes talk to each other & only use one for everything.
The big surprise was mom deciding to cash in her penny jar & get a TV (same one as us) as well! It was pretty fun walking into Best Buy & asking for 2 big screen TV's!
The ex - of course - is like a kid in the candy store. We HAD to buy a movie to watch right away & he even let me choose ... Bull Durham!
