Today found me at an equestrian buyer show in Richmond.  I met some co-workers at 7 am, so we could trek down south to look at horsie stuff all day.  I choose staff from 4 different stores that I felt would benefit from the show.  One manager knows nothing about horses, so she asked questions non-stop about what this piece of tack does & what is this brush for, etc.

The Richmond Convention center is a VERY nice venue & the staff working the show was about the most pleasant that I have come across at a trade show.  At one point, I asked a security guard if he could point me in the right direction of the food court so I could take my staff to lunch.  He told me how to get there & I asked him if he knew whether or not they accepted credit cards.  He said he thought so, but was not sure.  I thanked him & went on my way.  Several minutes later, he found me at the booth I was visiting & let me know that he called the food court & confirmed that they did indeed take credit cards.  THAT's customer service!

Lunch, by the way, was scrumptious!  Grilled pastrami Reuben with homemade potato chips.  Made fresh to order!

There was lots of fun stuff to ogle at the show ... Nuzzle perfume (designed for the horse-loving woman), Breyer horses (I want some of the 2008 Christmas ornaments already!), an English tack vendor that is perfect for one of my stores, a pair of free socks from a horse chotchkies vendor, wonderful equine art & so much more.

We managed to get out of the before the afternoon traffic jam & while I got home late, it was a fun day.
