After having breakfast at the Marriott, we headed out for the VA Tech campus. While I have driven through Blacksburg a few times, I've never been on the campus. A little bit of an odd feeling, since this is where I was going to attend vet school & also because I wasn't sure how things would be in a post-VA Tech-shooting scenario.
We found where we needed to be without too much trouble & were pleasantly surprised to find help to unload the van. The ex left me with the display case so that I could register & start setting up the booth & so that he could park. Registration was a brief affair & by the time I found the CFC booth, the display case was already there. I pretty much had the booth set up by the time the ex returned.
The show went well & we had more interest than I thought we would. By the end of the show, we had gathered about 2 dozen resumes, with several candidates showing good potential for CFC. The ex really surprised by doing a fantastic job; talking to the kids & telling them about CFC. I am so glad & grateful that he came with me!
We left the show a tad early & headed for home since we had a long drive. Getting back to Culpeper just after 7 pm, we elected to grab some Chinese at the new buffet in town rather than go home to forage & end up eating too late.
First thing tomorrow, we are setting off for NJ!
