A big day!
March 29th, 2008 09:39 pmOur day began with taking Cooper & Tucker to the local rabies clinic. After loading up the boys in the Endeavor, we set out for Culpeper. The Humane Society's rabies clinic was a drive-thru affair. The ex took care of the paperwork part while I stuck puppy butts out the window! Tucker's tail never stopped wagging the whole time while Cooper, in true Beagle fashion, was a wriggling wimp.
After we got the boys back home, the ex decided to ride out to our motorcycle dealer's open house. I had planned on attending as well, but with the temperature only in the 40's & me not feeling so hot, I stayed home.
One of my projects for the day was giving Tucker a bath. Since he was so good about his car ride & rabies shot, I figured bath time would be a blast.
WRONG!
Just getting the big lout in the tub was a chore. It was all I could do to keep him in the tub & get him wet. He lunged out of the tub twice, once knocking me over in the process. Perseverance got us (me) through it & in the end we got a marginally clean Tucker. We also got a hurting back (mine), claws marks through the shower curtain liner, a messy bathroom, & a broken curtain rod.
Next bath, I will make sure the ex is here!
The day ended on a good note since our local fire department was having their first fried chicken dinner of the year. They make the best fried chicken on the planet! Add some yummy mashed potatoes, cole slaw & carrot cake for dessert & you have a meal that can't be beat.
