Yesterday update #1

In the "beyond rude" category, I offer the following:

A co-worker came into my office, asking about some work-related thing. She noted that the date of said work-related thing also happened to be her anniversary. I wished her an early happy anniversary & mentioned that it was my anniversary. A bit of chit chat ensued & she left my office.

Not a minute had passed when I overheard her say, "... yeah, I was stuck talking to Anna Marie."

Have I mentioned that I hate this place more & more every day?

I don't have to like the folks in my office to do my job - nor do they have to like me to do theirs - but I seriously doubt that I will be wishing that lady anything again.

Yesterday update #2

OK, on to much happier stuffs about yesterday ...

The ex & I met after work at Carrabbas in Fredericksburg for dinner. We enjoyed scrumptious food, good service, nice chat & great company. The ex order the special, Chicken & Beef Marsala, while I had the Chicken Bryan (spelled 'wrong', I know!). We skipped desert since Mom baked a pumpkin pie for us!  (Thanks, Mom!)  It felt so nice to simply have nice dinner conversation.

The ex got me 2 cards - one that is wonderfully mushy & one that plays Johnny Cash! He also picked out a nice pair of earrings for me. I presented him with the ninja project that I have been working on ... a scrapbook for our wedding. I still have a few pages to complete; scrapbooking is hard (but fun) work!

After dinner, I asked him if we could swing into Ashley Furniture to see what they had to offer in the way of a dining room table for us.

L O N G story short:  Our new dining room furniture will be in next week!

We ended up buying the table & chairs sight unseen & I will be holding breath until it comes in. OK, well, not really holding my breath, but you get the idea. We also decided to spring for the hutch.

Yes, it's from two different collections, but they totally work with each other; in fact, the sales lady had just put together a set for a customer from these two collections recently.
