Yesterday, the ex & I tackled some projects about the house. The ex - yes, my tall husband - cleaned the top of the fridge & was really helpful around the house. It may sound silly, but not only did I really appreciate him doing some house chores but it was very fun doing things about the house WITH him for a change.
This morning we went to Fredericksburg to do a bit of shopping. After the mandatory stop at Gander Mountain where we picked up a few supplies (sausage casing, anyone?), we went to Bed, Bath & Beyond. If you know me, you know I adore BBB & their 20% off coupons of which I usually have a fistful of at all times.
The main thing we were shopping for was place mats for our new dining room table. Of course, we had to check out kitchen utensils & knives along the way. Although I was a bit disappointed not to find what I was looking for, we found some place mats that we both liked & bought 12 of them so that we would have enough for big gatherings. We also bought 2 every day place mats just for us. The ex even tolerated me doing a lap of the store to check out any bargains.
Next stop was BJ's for groceries. Of course, grocery shopping with the ex is pretty much like shopping with a kid. Only this kid can reach the top shelf & carry heavy things.
The weather today was stellar. Lots of color in the trees, warm temperatures & LOTS of sunshine. The ex & I had the dogs out for a romp. Sneaky Cooper was a bad dog & ran off, but good boy Tucker stayed & amused us with his antics. Tne hilarious thing he does is run around carrying a 9 pound medicine ball in his teeth! This ball is solid rubber & watching Tucker get a grip on it & gallop around ever so proudly makes us giggle every time.
