Election day 2008.
The day that has been hyped up for so bloody long it seems completely anti-climatic for me.
As has been the case for a while now, the ex & I just cancel out each other's votes. We were both surprised to see so many other choices on the ballot for president. We had not expected anyone else since they got zero press coverage.
If I didn't have to cancel out the ex's vote, I would have voted for Ralph Nadar, because I don't think either "party" candidate is truly the right choice. Voting for the lesser of two evils is truly a shame in this country.
On the local level, I found it impossible to vote for the incumbent Representative after he just voted for the stimulus package. I wrote to him with my concerns & was rewarded with a form letter that not only did not address my specific questions, but the canned response insinuated that the "little folks back home" are too stupid to understand this serious stuff.
Right. Let's bail out an industry that was a factor in making the economic mess we are in now. Let's forget just how beneficial it has been to bail out the airline industry several times.
