Another dog day
March 25th, 2010 11:42 pmThis time the dog day was not for me ... Mom and I drove to Waynesboro (about 2 hours south) to pick up a VERY sweet Pit Bull named Roxy. She's a blue brindle and white; three years old and is just as happy as can be. She also has a permanently bent tail that she ended up with a puppy. (The breeder should have docked the tail!) Roxy has already fit in well with Mom's other dogs and I hope she be a good girl for Mom.
On the way home we saw an awesome VA license plate: "UM WTF"
Also on the way home, we stopped by an Amish furniture shop that is going out of business. They had some truly amazing furniture. I, of course, fell in love with the most expensive bedroom set in the shop.
Nothing in sight in the job hunt as of yet. The drive to Wayenesboro was a good reality check though to see how far south would be viable for me to search. Seems Ruckersville is about the furthest that would be okay for a daily grind.
Duchess and Tucker got to enjoy a rope toy that Mom got for them. It's a blast watching the dogs play tug of war.
No word on the settlement papers. No surprise there.
Found a very helpful guy at Lowe's this evening. His name was Wink. Wink had a great tattoo of tools on his arm. He also told me that the problem I am having drilling the holes for the deadbolts is the drill's fault. It is simply too powerful for the job. Sadly, the 9.6 volt drill is too wimpy for the job. Next time I have a chance to see Mom, I will borrow her 18 volt drill and hopefully that drill will be just right!
Treadmill = zero since we were on the road for a good part of the day.
