Another chapter ends...
October 22nd, 2010 10:23 pmToday did indeed turn out to be my last day at work. My boss waited until 2:30 or so to speak with me. Not only did that prevent me from leaving early (indeed, I worked late on my last day!) but I also missed saying goodbye and thank you to my first shift staff.
Turns out after all the craziness and whatnot, I am leaving on a very good note with my now-former-employer singing my praises and willing to do so in writing if needed. She says she is trying to find a way to do some projects with me, perhaps in marketing, that would allow us to work together in the future. I'm very grateful that this did not go up in flames as I fear it would have had I not resigned.
Lots of hugs and well wishes from my second shift crew made me leave the building smiling.
Had dinner with Mom tonight since she dropped off goodies for me to take to MDRF with me in the morning and to take my dogs to her place for safe keeping.
This weekend is the last days of MDRF - always a bittersweet occasion. While I miss seeing friends every weekend and all the other wonderful trappings of faire, it will be fantastic to sleep in on the weekends as well as to get in the woods and do some hunting.
