First!

Took the year's first ride on the Wing today since temperatures were rather pleasant and I had to go to post office anyway. There was a slight hesitation when I fired it up, but the bike came to life without much coaxing. With gas prices rising fast, it will be nice when the warmer weather hits in earnest and I can potentially use the Wing for trips back and forth to the city home.

Also in the "firsts of 2011" category was getting nailed by a bug between the eyes. Seriously? I could have done without that!

For the most part, today was spent moving and cleaning stuff. Duchess' crate has now been dismantled, cleaned and put away. The dogs had their first meal in the dining room and boy did it not go as planned. Tucker was very leery of his new dish placement and Duchess ate even faster than normal. In the end, I had to close Duchess off while Tucker finished his kibble and then had to place his dish on the floor so he would finish. Tomorrow will find us trying another feeding strategy.

There are two full bags for Goodwill, the Roomba is shipped off to its new owner and Freecycle found a home for two old CRT monitors that have been in the basement for several years. Many things that can be stored downstairs have been brought down; tomorrow will see me doing more of the same.

Part of the master onehouse [TM] plan is to turn the small bedroom into a practice room and the larger spare bedroom back into an office.

Another first today were the crocus blooms. They are so wonderfully perky and pretty and I adore them so. Wanting to share them with daecabhir I snapped some pictures and emailed them off.

Speaking of my honey, daecabhir had me smiling this evening when he called me from Trader Joe's and proceeded to talk to me the entire time he was shopping. Nothing like grocery shopping together via cell phone when you are miles apart.
