March 23rd, 2011 11:31 pmFive months ago today that most amazing man walked into my life.
I am very grateful that he decided to stay.
Fortunately the week has flown by because often the days seem to drag when
daecabhir and I are apart.
Monday, March 21 - Travel day. Mom and Wilma were here at the country home when I got here with Tucker and Duchess. They helped me unload the city home stuff that I had brought; then Wilma and I loaded the van with their stuff from the basement while mom cooked us dinner.
Tuesday, March 22 - Met with the first of three roofing contractors to address the leaky roof. $8,200 for 30-year shingles and $21,500 for a metal roof. Holy smokes! A bit more than I had thought the numbers would be. Got some raking down in the yard and burned leaves. Somehow, no matter how many leaves I burn there are always a lot more to deal with.
Wednesday, March 23 - Met with two more roofing contractors in the morning. Their quotes should be in to me tomorrow. While the contractor was here, we measured the backyard fence to get a quote for it as well. Once I was done with roofing guys, I headed to Culpeper for the first of many errands - Goodwill to drop off three bags of stuff, meet up with mom and have yummy Thai food for lunch, accompany mom for a hearing test and subsequent hearing aid fitting, back to Goodwill, a quick stop at Fashion Bug (the Culpeper location is closing - Friday is their last day), a quick stop at JC Penney to see if I could use for $10 off coupon (nope) and then finally, grocery shopping at Martins. Arrived home at 10 pm and had yogurt for dinner.
When I got to Martin's, I called
daecabhir so that we talk before he headed in for a sleep study. While we talked the rain started up hard and fast and pea-sized hail came crashing down. The wind was rocking the Endeavor and visibility was horrible. I could hardly hear
daecabhir during the worst of it (gawd only knows how loud it was on his end) but he stayed on the phone with me until it was over. The whole thing only lasted a few minutes but it was pretty scary.
In other news, not in any particular order:

In other news, not in any particular order:
- The spring LiveJournal colors suck. (Not my custom journal colors but that ghastly yellow on their home page. Ugh!)
- Bought half a truck load of mulch. It's sitting in the driveway and now I have my work cut out for me.
- VABB turned off service because it seems that I had inserted a cable incorrectly when I moved the router. Goodness knows how long it was out for. It did suck not having any service when I returned from the city home.
