Spent much of today in the yard trying to play catch up on my flower beds since they have been mostly ignored since the tail end of 2009. One of the things that has been on the agenda for quite some time is to replace the landscape ties that have been place since the house was purchased in 2002. While I can't replace the edging just yet, the old ties have been removed. The front beds with the dwarf Japanese maple and mini hostas have all be raked, weeded and mulched. The large flower bed in the front lawn is about one-third complete.
The biggest hurdle is the raking up of moss and acorns (and subsequent hauling the waste off to the stump pile). Since I am sans a working wheelbarrow at the moment and walking buckets of yard waste into the woods got old fast, I pressed the Endeavor into service. I don't think it was very happy to be relegated to a fancy lawn tractor, but I promised to wax it later this spring.
Finally heard from the BJ's contractor about coming out for a quote on the roofing. They'll be out tomorrow and once we know their numbers, we can move into action feeling somewhat educated about roofing stuffs.
