Monday, Monday
April 25th, 2011 08:36 pmYet another "pack up" Monday but at least the number of mornings where one of us is packing is dwindling.

daecabhir and I had a very enjoyable weekend. Saturday found us (oddly enough) in Maryland for a mini frat-family reunion and on Sunday we had Mom and Wilma over for dinner. Mom had said that she was game to try a vegetarian meal, so we made a tofurkey roast. It's a little weird (we have better chicken alternatives) but it was fun to try.
Today oncedaecabhir was on the road, I set about getting a few things done. Since we chose the color for the doors and shutters, I took the Wing out to the hardware store so that I could get the paint tinted. I cleaned the front door and removed all the shutters from the house but did not get any painting done as of yet. Once the grass has dried out from yesterday's rain, I managed to get almost all of the yard mowed (except for the drain field) before the little Yard Bug mower got tired and light was running.
Tucker is doing very well with the Halti on during our walks, howeverdaecabhir prefers the regular leash on Tucker and a retractable leash for Duchess. Tucker seems to be doing better on the regular lead - maybe as a result of the Halti work. In other puppy news, we're working Duchess to "give paw" which is something I never did with her because she tends to "talk with her paws" and jumped up when I first got her. I figured enough time has passed for not to get confused over being made to keep her feet on the ground and giving a paw on command.
Although I've had two different sets of folks interested in giving the rats a home, no one ha come through. They good pets - really. I just don't have time for these boys anymore.
