Playing catch up again
July 15th, 2011 07:20 pmWow, no real job but being a full-time homemaker has been keeping me plenty busy.
What the heck has been going on anyhow?
July 10th - We drove to Frederick to meet up with some of
daecabhir's family. The warm welcome that I received was truly wonderful and it was great meet everyone. On the way, we stopped by a wild birding store and picked out a thistle feeder for the gold finches and a neat double suet feeder for the woodpeckers; and my honey bought me this awesome carved wooden bud vase.
During the week, I hit Culpeper for a marathon of errands - dryer shopping since ours has begun its death march, the plumbing supply store since one of the outdoor faucets is broken, dropped off more stuff at Goodwill, grocery shopping, picked up dog food, etc.
While I've not been a doctor to know for certain, I am pretty sure that I have a stress fracture in my left foot. Luckily I still have the walking boot that I had to wear when I had the PRP therapy done last year, so I started wearing it yesterday and it seems to help ease the pain a good bit. Bad news is that heal time is 6-8 weeks!
Today the goldfinches finally found the new feeder! The female found it first and it was her loud calling that drew my attention to the window (the feeder is outside our office). It wasn't long before the male flew in and then they both called and ate for a while. What a sight!
