A day of wrong

Outside of my day beginning and ending with daecabhir, the rest of it pretty much went to hell in a hand basket.

Our home phone line has been out of commission since last week and the repair tech was due this morning. Apparently that means sometime between 1:30 and 2 pm to the folks at Verizon.

The guy that did some drywall work for us over the summer was supposed to come by to repair some of his repair work was a no show.

Thanks to Verizon, I was a few hours behind schedule in getting to F'burg for several errands. No biggie, I can adjust, right? First stop was Hancock Fabrics where I realized that I didn't have my coupons. Well, I still actually had them but they were on the fridge at home. Next stop was JoAnn's (whose coupons also live on the fridge with the Hancock ones) and was completely underwhelmed with fabric color choices and and overwhelmed with some of the prices. Muslin for $5.99/yard? Nondescript silk for $19.99/yard? Really?

Then it's off to Home Depot to look at some paint chips. Should be a breeze right? Normally it would be, but when the power went out leaving everyone in the dark, it's not so easy to see the colors anymore. I realize that you should view paint chips in various types of light, but this was a little silly.

By now I'm getting hungry so I'm going to stop for a bite. Maybe not since the power was off as several of the places that were a good option for a quick bite.

Okay, I'm getting the hint. After learning that power was also out at the mall, I hit Hancock again to score one of the fabrics I was looking for. Their choices weren't much better, but I found something that will work (and besides the $15.99/yard silk I picked was on sale for $11-something/yard). Didn't buy everything I wanted to get because of the stupid coupons being on the stupid fridge.

Next stop on this hit parade was BJ's and - don't you know it - I realized that I have left my entire coupon organizer at home.

Okay universe, I get it.
