Not much of an update
January 15th, 2012 11:23 pmThings have been flying at warp speed as
daecabhir and I are in the final stages of our ninja project for this month.
Pottery class on the 11th went well. I created three pieces using the coil method. It would have been nice to get a heads up about parking and a tool list, but I muddled through and managed to avoid being ticketed.
On Friday the 13th (my lucky day!) we found out that our bedroom furniture had arrived. After putting the tire back on the trailer, I made my way to F'burg. First stop was Lake of the Woods True Value to have some paint mixed for the bedroom. We figure since we are going to all the trouble of moving furniture and what-not, we should go ahead and paint the room too. As I was walking out of the store, a guy came walking up and wanted to know who had the truck and trailer (that would be me) because he had just backed into it. Fortunately there was no damage to the Endeavor or the trailer (save for some green paint) but sadly the guy's truck had not been so lucky. I was able to drive away from his truck and disengage the trailer from his bumper.
With no further mishaps, our new bed made it home safe and sound.
Bedroom progress - the walls are painted. We had to go back to the LoW True Value to get a second gallon of paint. We started to paint the trim tonight and it just makes the room look WAY too purple (even for me). So now we are scrambling to come up with the _right_ color for the trim. Good thing we have a three-day weekend to get this done. While the bedroom is torn apart,
daecabhir and I are sleeping on the futon in the office and we miss our latex bed!
For a wonderful diversion, we met up with
aylinn and Kory-who-I-don't-think-does-LJ. A certain wonderful witch has now saved the day at least twice and I'm very thankful that we are blessed with so many awesome friends.
Speaking of the futon - it's time we get horizontal on it!
