My name that is!

Did the two biggie name changes today - VA Department of Motor Vehicles and Social Security - so I am now 'officially' Anna Marie Torre Wright. I did a bit of a name tetris, if you will, made my first name Anna Marie for real (Marie was my middle name) and took Torre as my new middle name so I could keep my Italian family name.

Of course, the best part is that I am Mrs. Gregory Wright ... just because I'm a dork.

Speaking of tetris-ing, yesterday we drove up to Ikea to buy two bookcases for the practice room, lamps for the bedroom and any other Swedish goodies that caught our fancy. The lamps, while adorable, don't really work for us as we thought they would, so they will be returned. The bookcases (two 'half' Billy units in brown-black) however are an awesome improvement for the practice room. The bookcase that was in there was the full height Billy bookcase in beech. The shorter height opens the room and makes it seem larger while the dark wood matches the unit on the other of the room that serves as both my book case and altar. Playing with color and shapes in this matter never ceases to amaze me.

And yes, we got some of that yummy Swedish meatball sauce mix (which will be used soon with the new Morningstar Farms meatballs which, by the way, are very good) and another jar of lingonberry jam since it is so scrumptious.

The bedroom is really starting to shape up. While at Ikea, we purchased a Hemnes unit (same design family as our dressers) that should serve as a sexy bench for the foot of the bed. Tomorrow, Mother Nature will be giving us a spring-like day in January and I'll be able to get some spray painting done (changing the door hinges over to satin nickel). The one piece for the bedroom makeover that has not yet fallen into place is a new ceiling fan. [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir and I have been completely underwhelmed by the choices out there. We don't think that our tastes or requirements are that whacky but we are having a tough time finding the right fan. (For the record, we're looking for something 48-52 inches wide, dark finish, globe lighting and a factory installed remote control.) I sure hope that we find it soon!
