Jeebers, I am not sure where to start. Since so much has been going on, today's update will be by subject...

The fridge - the basement fridge was delivered by two very nice guys (we took turns making each other laugh and they helped me trick [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir into thinking we had to pay extra for the handles). There was a small ding on the top of the fridge (not caused by said delivery guys - you could tell because there was dust in the dent) and Lowes took 10% off the cost.

Pottery - Decided to mix up the powered Coyote desert sage glaze first and only experiment with one new glaze at a time. [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir graciously offered me some studio time on Sunday so that I could be ready to fire the kiln on Monday and take new pieces to the farmer's market on Wednesday. Not too sure what happened with the desert sage as only a few pieces came out with the desired green - most pieces came out brown. Not a bad brown, mind you, but this glaze was pretty expensive and I wanted green. In the end it didn't matter a whole lot because ...

Health - I went to bed on Monday (the 11th) feeling basically fine and woke up on Tuesday (the 12th) sick. Stomach cramps, aches and feeling pretty blah. Cancelled were my newly made trigger point injection appointment for the 12th and the farmer's market on the 13th. Basically, I slept off and on for two days with symptoms ranging from fever, a sore throat for one morning, more tummy cramps and etc. Fortunately I woke up on Thursday (the 14th) feeling improved enough to attempt our camping trip to ...

Lewis Mountain - From Thursday, June 14th through today, [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir and I have been camping (in cabins with running water) at the Lewis Mountain campground right off of Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. [livejournal.com profile] 1painter42 and her hubby, Paul, invited me to this annual trek several years back and this was the third (I think) time I've been able to make it. It was nice to share the experience with my willing partner although I wish I would have been to be a bit more proactive in the entire process. Seems there was no chance of me talking too much ...

Silence - By Friday, I was feeling pretty good. During lunch, I choked on something I was eating and coughed a lot but didn't think too much about it. That was until my voice starting fading. Fast. In just a short time, I was not able to make any sound at all. Thankfully we had brought a note pad and a pen for game scorekeeping. Writing everything out that you want to say sure does make you say only the important stuff!

More health - To backtrack a little, on Monday, June 11, Dr. Truong performed a nerve test in order to determine what is causing my hands to go numb sporadically. The good news is that it's not full blown carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) however, The left wrist has already started going that way and the right is on the edge. Now I get to wear what I call my Wonder Woman bracers for 10 hours a day for the next three months and then anytime I do things like pottery, riding the bike or knitting after that.

Tonight - [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir and I are home recuperating. We've done four loads of laundry (everything that went up camping is getting washed whether we wore it or not), watched an episode of 'Are You Being Served' and a bit of Matchstick Men (we agreed to not finish it), had a bit to eat (after four days of a LOT of food, we're still full). I have no voice whatsoever and my right ear is still plugged from the altitude (at least I hope it's just the altitude).

Whew. That's all the time I have tonight since my honey and I need to get some quality rest.
