Yarny goodness
July 11th, 2013 04:41 pmOne of the loom knitting groups that I am in on Ravelry is doing a summer swap. Today I sent my package out to the lady that I knit the potholder for (along with other goodies) and received a wonderful package from the person who got me.
For my partner's swap package, I included a cotton potholder, a pottery pendant necklace, dried apricots, a loom pick, a skein of yarn, and purchased two of Renee Van Hoy's patterns for her. I'm always nervous when knitting for strangers - while we ask questions about our swap partners, it's hard to really know what they will like or not.
The lady that got me sent a wonderful package including homemade coconut biscotti and maple praline almonds, a package of blocking pins, a small bit of wool to experiment with, a fun skein of mohair-like yarn from a LYS, and 8 partials skeins of various animal fiber (wool/mohair/alpaca).
Tonight's dinner was a baked bean and veggie-grounds casserole with corn-on-the-cob as a side dish. Strawberry-rhubarb crisp for desert (my first attempt). All was deemed yummy.
