This is Daecabhir's FB post for today and it really covers what happened and saves me from typing it all up. hehe
"A good portion of today was sponsored by Lowes (actually, I guess we sponsored Lowes). We acquired the tile, grout and other supplies for the master bathroom shower. Oh the fun we had...
- We had already picked out the tile, and thought we had picked out the grout - except that Lowes in F'burg does not carry the same brand of tile grout as the Lowes in Culpeper. So there was some intense examination of grout color samples, which are minuscule if you've never had the pleasure, with the final selection being not what I would have expected from the color name (but hey, it works).
- We also looked at new vanity tops, and we may be challenged by the fact that the depth of the space for the vanity is the "old" standard, which is narrower than the "new" standard. Problem being that the space in the bathroom will only fit the "old" standard. So there may be a custom vanity top in the future.
- There was also choosing a new bathroom paint color, because the old one really won't work with the new tile. Again, an unexpected color choice to tie it all together.
The goal here is to do this right now, and hopefully not have to worry about it again. The contractor doing the work appears to know what he is doing, and is using what seems to be "state of the art" these days for building out tile showers to last.
There was also a trip to the beer store, along with a few other stops for groceries and such. The puppies were really glad to see us."
