Work sucked and I can't fix my smashed mailbox ... however I learned that the divorce decree will be submitted to the court this Thursday.

Another trip to the OB/gyn today. The sonogram says that I have several fibroids. No real rhyme or reason why they hurt so bad recently. I will give my uterus two more chances to stay in my body, but on the third pain bender, it is history.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Default)
This week at work included a host of crapola such as:
  • One of my co-workers scaring me with his heart issues (an a-fib episode mid-morning) that resulted in me driving him home ... against my boss' wishes.
  • Jobs just dropping in to the schedule despite several reminders that ALL jobs must go through me.
  • Too many people asking for the 7th off.
  • Re-arranging some things on the production floor before we were ready to.
  • The boss coming down onto the production floor and stopping work in progress because all of the changes she wanted had not been made.
There were a few bright spots though:
  • FINALLY getting to hire the first shift manager that I have needed for months.
  • Watching part of my crew hold a surprise baby shower for one of the workers AND getting served some amazing Mexican fare to boot.
  • Telling my boss that while I understand she feels I made a poor business decision to bring the ailing co-worker home, I made the right personal decision and that I hope she understands that.
  • Learning that we have been awarded a huge government contract. (Okay, this one goes in the scary column too!)
All this fun while battling a fibroid that must be a cousin of Godzilla. I am not sure that the Doctor had this in mind when he told me to take it easy and take drugs! LOL

No word on divorce stuff ... maybe next week. All they have to do is bring the decree into court. How hard is that?

There is gorgeous weather coming in for the weekend and I plan to spend 3 days in Revel Grove!
pandasheart: I am pony! Hear me roar! (rapidash)
Today's doctor visit was for triggerpoint injections in my lower back. Apparently the muscles along my spine are so tight and knotted they could feel the difference when doing the injections. I think I will be spending some quality time with my heating pad this evening.

Tomorrow will be a truly ugly day at the office - the boss will be back and the investigation into the security comprise issue begins in earnest.

Heard from my attorney about the divorce decree; she recommends proceeding getting it processed through the court so that it will be easier to sue the ex if he (further) breeches the contract by not paying me back what he owes.

Seems the government is checking my references for my clearance; if you are one of my references - thank you again!

Today marked the shortest time that someone has been in my employment. Currently I am interviewing for drivers. My morning interviewee was not much of an option - no car of his own, 6 points on his driving record and a one-year recent probation on a drug charge. Since my afternoon interviewee seemed like big improvement, I hired him. The HR lady spent 45 minutes getting our new hire squared away so that he could start work tomorrow morning.

But not for long!

A mere 15 minutes after leaving the building, the guy called and left a message for me ... he didn't want start until mid-September!

/facepalm

Another /boggle moment came from my boss when she announced to me that I could hire the shift supervisor that I need ... but only after MORE justification was done by this Friday. Thinking that this would mean that I could at least set the guy up to start on Monday, she let me know that's not the case.

A bit of good news did come my way today ... my attorney FINALLY got in touch with the ex's lawyer. After 2 very minor tweaks to the divorce decree, it is being sent back to other lawyer who will deliver in person to the court. No news yet on the schedule for repayment of the money that the ex owes me though.

ARGH

pandasheart: Panda's Heart (huh?)
Soooo last week my boss me asked to justify hiring a supervisor for my first shift; even though we all agree that one is necessary and there was one previously. After completing a written justification and handing it in AND having her exclaim that it was EXACTLY what she was looking for, I figured I would get the word Monday to hire said supervisor.

Silly me.

Today, after asking if I had the green light, she announces that she is not letting me hire anyone until she has some additional metrics in place on the production floor.

For the love of horses! I am going on vacation next month. If a new supervisor is not place immediately there is no way they will be able to cover the shift properly.

GRRRRR

Speaking of things that make you go "GRRRR" - there is NO word from the other lawyer in regards to the divorce decree.

"GRRR" is not the only thing I have said today ... during my visit to Dr. Truong, we decided to work on my jaw in an effort to alleviate some of the tension and fatigue. Trust me, have dry-needling done to your jaw, cheeks, temples and back of the head is one heck of an experience. After Goddess-knows-how-many needle sticks, she set four needles at the top of my neck/base of my skull and ran current into the muscles. Right after the procedure, it seemed that my jaw was moving easier ... for right now I am just very sore.

I am ready to sleep in and get some things done around the house this weekend. With all the rain that we have had lately, the lawn needs to be mowed to boot.

Was all set to get out of work more or less on time when several folks in a row stopped by for advice and what-not. It was after 6 pm when I finally left.

Stopped on my way home this evening to get a box turtle out of the road. When I approached him, he took off so fast I could hear his nails scraping on the asphalt. After a ride in the Endeavor, I turned him loose in a wildlife management area that is off the beaten track.

My attorney wrote to me today to let me know that she has left a "zillion" messages for the ex's lawyer and that she is furious. She may end up sending in the divorce decree to the court with a note saying that they other side refuses to respond.

Not a great day at work but not horrible either. No one went to the hospital and as I far as I know everything that was supposed mail did. A new hire in the warehouse quit after 3 days but that seemed to be the worst of it.

Evidence of my helping [livejournal.com profile] dreamtigress yesterday is manifested in a few mosquito bites on my legs and soreness in both hamstrings and my back after my slide on the front ramp.

Showed off the new cell phone to the boss and is she pleased. I told her that it was all her fault anyhow. ::: evil grin :::

Not that I am playing much EverQuest at all anymore, but I have been playing one day a week to raid with my guild and doing whatever requirements that I have to maintain my guide status. Guiding has been mostly fun until this week. EQ underwent server mergers recently and that meant guides got merged onto new servers as well. For some reason, the past few days has been nothing but drama on my guide server. It finally got to me tonight and I have asked for a transfer. There is no way that I need more stress in my life right now.

Speaking of stress, there is no news regarding the divorce decree.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (huh?)
Another nutso day at work. My right-hand guy called out and just in case I was bored, I also had to contend with: broken machinery, my main floor guy taking two hours to request material that I needed late last week, office construction, having a no-show interviewee, and far too many jobs to process in one day. Another 10+ hour. This is getting old fast.

In divorce news, my attorney wrote me to let me know that there is no news. (Apparently the other lawyer is out of town but she'll keep trying to get in touch.)
pandasheart: (whistlejacket)
... will be spent cleaning and doing laundry and shopping.

The Saturday crew worked hard and hopefully made enough of a dent in the work so that things can mail on time for Monday.

I'm really towards going into F'burg tomorrow and ordering the HTC Incredible phone. I'm just leery of that monthly payment!

No word about the divorce; my attorney will be calling his on Monday.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (pony welcome)
Despite the decision to have a relaxing weekend (which I am) I also managed to get some things done. Today's "accomplished" list includes:
  • Washing the Endeavor
  • Putting away dishes
  • A load of laundry
  • Getting a haircut
  • Filling up the bird feeder
  • Emptying out the back of Endeavor (It was packed full of stuff)
  • Making hummingbird syrup and refilling one of the feeders
  • Cleaning the new chair and ottoman
  • Paying bills
  • Took a nap
This morning was so nice - 65 degrees here - I even opened up the windows and ran the house fan to get some fresh air in the house. Look like the temps will be dropping again tonight (although some rain is most likely).

No news on the divorce front; hopefully the other side returns the signed paperwork soon.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Default)
Apparently the theme at work this week is "make each day crazier than yesterday".

Just a few of today's "highlights":
  • One of the warehouse guys running a forklift into one of the brand new fans that I just bought for them.
  • The same warehouse guy freaking out later that afternoon on his boss, the warehouse manager.
  • Me having to calm the warehouse manager down not once but twice.
  • Having to find a willing victim to climb a ladder on the shop floor.
  • The big boss realizing we have a job in house that has an impossible deadline.
  • Spending 2 hours on the very hot shop floor moving stuff around.
  • Discovering employee records in my office (that had been left by the last occupant) that had no business being out of HR.
  • Being both called to the carpet on the above impossible deadline job and being told what a super job I am doing.
How's that for a bit of fun? LOL

Of course there was a lot more "excitement" in my day but I just don't want to think about it any more.

Good news from my attorney - she is sending the depositions to the ex's lawyer tomorrow along with the divorce decree and notification that since I have closed on the house, the ex is responsible for paying back what he owes per the terms of the settlement agreement. What a relief that I do not have to mess with it at this point! She also verified the information for my name change.

Tomorrow morning, I will be in the dentist chair at 7 am to have the left side of my mouth cleaned. After the appointment, I will come home to recover and head to see Dr. Truong in the afternoon for triggerpoint injections. Oh joy!

Closed!

The closing on the house went off without a hitch late this afternoon. This makes for one big hurdle down. Hopefully the ex will fulfill the terms of the settlement agreement and begin paying the money he owes from the other mortgage.

On what should have been an easy day at work, my right-hand guy was out all day and I learned that the security breach that we had back in June has come back to bite us in the arse - an investigation has been filed. This will leave a nasty blotch on our record regardless of the outcome.

If you have not already guessed - I am really glad that the weekend is here!
pandasheart: (whistlejacket)
In 24 hours I should be the sole owner of my home - how exciting! Once this happens, the ex will be required by the settlement agreement to start paying back the money he owes me.

Mom and I both got our depositions done this morning and in the mail. Thanks to those of you who were willing to line up to be a witness for me as well.

Duchess is doing very well after her surgery; in fact she is sound asleep and snoring as I peck away on the keyboard.

Another long day at work (over 9 hours). Every time I think I have things under control, something goes horribly haywire. As if having a stolen truck was not bad enough this week, today we had a last minute (and very complicated) job that had to mail today and we had 2.5 hours to get it done. Much craziness ensued but we were able to get it out the door. Also late in the day I learned that a client that we are trying to woo was lied to and our customer service folks were caught with the pants down. Guess whose job it is to make things right. Bingo! I could certainly do without the 11th hour drama!
pandasheart: (celt flame pony)
The closing on MY home is set for Friday afternoon!

The deposition papers came today! Both Mom and I have will have to complete the depositions, get them notarized and send them to my attorney; then they go to the ex's lawyer along with the divorce decree. We're not quite there yet, but we are certainly getting closer!

Part of me (a small part) feels a wee bit guilty for feeling so euphoric, but as the lady in the title office told me, "Honey, you deserve it!"

With what my attorney and the refinance are costing me, I guess I've paid my way to the euphoria too. LOL

Duchess is back home after her spay surgery (thanks Mom!) and looks no wear worse for the wear.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Default)
The best laid plans of a girl just trying to get out of the office after eight hours and enjoy a nice dinner with her Mother sadly could not be realized today. Maybe it was the leaking roof? The last minute dash to get 82,000 pieces of mail out the door? The missing 702 pieces of mail? An employee wanting to chat? A co-worker's grandfather admitted to the hospital? Another meeting that ran late? The amateur plumber installation of a new ice maker?

If you guessed ALL of these things - you would be correct!

Thanks to Mom though, I came home and enjoyed a steak dinner (but without her company). Also thanks to Mom, Duchess is going to be spayed tomorrow. Tucker is a little mopey with her gone. I plan on taking him to the office with me tomorrow. Wish us both luck! LOL

My attorney sent me an update today - the ex has signed both the quit claim deed and the waiver for the divorce! I should have the deposition papers tomorrow and have instructed that the quit claim deed gets to the mortgage folks ASAP.

Speaking of the mortgage folks, my new rate should 4.75% (down from 4.99%)!

While I am trying not to get too jazzed prematurely, it's certainly the best news I've had all day!
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Default)
Today's temp was around 100 degrees and very humid. Thankfully I took the Endeavor again; it's a sad thing when it's too hot for a motorcycle!

Signed a few more documents today for the refinance.

Still waiting to hear some word from the ex's lawyer.

Gave the Endeavor a bath this evening since it was beyond dirty.

Work continues to be a challenge. The shop is extremely overloaded this week and a Saturday shift is certainty at this point. Trying to a get a handle on the government work is proving to be more difficult than I had imagined.
pandasheart: I am pony! Hear me roar! (rapidash)
Record breaking temperatures in a few places today ... the hot spot was BWI airport where the mercury hit 106!

With the brutal heat I chose to take the Endeavor - which just may be my ride for the rest of the week with high temps expected tomorrow and thunderstorms on the radar for Thursday and Friday.

No news about the divorce or the refinance ... hopefully something develops before the week is over.

Just when I thought work was under control, we got a huge amount of mail to process on a 4-day week. It will be quite a challenge to make it through the next three days (actually four for the shop since overtime on Saturday for the crew will almost be a certainty.

Thanks to Mom for bringing the dogs back home for me. She was supposed to pick up some things that she had left here last time (including her cell phone) but lo and behold she went home without the bag that had her stuff! At least we enjoyed a nice dinner together. hehe

Since this month has 3 pay periods in it, I am hoping to catch up on things - I even splurged and bought some bird seed for the feeder.
pandasheart: (celt flame pony)
Woke up this morning to cool temperatures and a slight breeze - what fantastic day to ride the Wing into the office. The ride home was also a pleasure. In fact, it is so nice out that I have the house windows open!

No news on the refinance or divorce yet.
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Default)
Another oppressively hot day here in Virginia. Code orange air quality = blah. Since they called for afternoon thunderstorms, I took the Endeavor to escape the heat (and it really did storm a bit).

When I arrived to my office, I was greeted by a yellow note from the guy running my first shift. Seems he was not feeling well and had to leave. Turns out he spent the day in the ER with a blood sugar reading over 500. Yikers! He'll be out for a few days no doubt.

Spent a good part of my day in meetings but I did manage to roll out a new and improved production report. As a bonus the big boss loves it and thanked me three times for doing it. (And here I was a little nervous for not consulting her and just doing the report.)

My application for a security clearance (required for my job) is complete and ready to be submitted tomorrow. My fingerprints get taken as well. For those folks who agreed to be references for me - thank you!

Divorce update from my attorney: She spoke with the other lawyer and he said that he is going to get the ex into his office within the next few days to sign the waiver of service and he will have him sign the quit claim deed then also. YAY!

Also heard from the mortgage broker - my application has been submitted. The appraiser is coming out tomorrow evening to do his thing. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!

It's hard to believe that June is almost over!
pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Default)
Woohoo!

Apart from two postal counts being off (quite possibly the USPS clerk's error) the day went fairly smooth. With temperatures not quits so hot (yesterday set a record - 100 degrees!) and much less humidity, it was nice riding weather for the commute.

The quit claim deed has been proofed and sent to the ex's lawyer with a request that it be handled expeditiously. Cross your fingers!
