I spent most of today in our Caroline store helping out for their "Spring Fling" event. The #17 Carhartt car of Matt Kenseth was there, as well as a local racer's #96 McDonald's car. There were free hot dogs for everyone, manufacturer reps & special pricing on many items throughout the store.
The neat thing about the local race car guy?
He's 15.
I always enjoy hanging with the crew from Caroline since they are all nice folks. Hopefully the sales from today & tomorrow will prove worthy of the effort that everyone has poured into making this event. This store is struggling to pay for itself after opening this time last year. My ride home from Caroline seemed to take forever; I finally arrived home at 7:30 pm.
The ex called me at the store around 5 pm to let me know that he was home - with his motorcycle - AND that he was locked out of the house. Seems that in his haste to get the bike, he neglected to remember his house key. Adding insult to injury, the spare key he stashed outside is no longer in its place. The VTX (his bike) was suffering from loose hose clamps, something they say is common with the bikes that have stayed in the crate for so long.
He was hoping to get his saddlebags mounted this evening, but as it turns out this job is much more complicated than he anticipated.
