Silly stuff?

It may be way silly but I did something today out of principal ... even if it is my own warped way of looking at things.

The corporate managers of my company, which include several of the top folks, my 'boss' & one person who has no business what-so-ever having as much power as he does, made lunch in honor of Administrative Professionals Day. Formerly known as Secretary's Day.

I haven't been an 'Administrative Professional' in well over 10 years and while my current 'boss' has always had little girl assistants , I have made it very clear from the get go, that I am not one of them nor to be placed in that category.

The real rub though, however, comes from the fact that my 'boss' chose not to follow the corporate re-structuring that included making me the Manager of Marketing & instead chose to let the old job title just sort describe what I do because it is so close.

Complete BULL SHIT!

And so, I had a very nice lunch with my Mother (thanks Mom!) who did not tell me I was silly for boycotting the lunch.

Thank you for lunch sweetie,,,, I know you would be a better manager for the whole bunch of stores (and not just for marketing) then anyone they have in place now,, not because you are my daughter,,, but because you know what you are doing and are damn good at it
