Oy! My aching back...
March 6th, 2006 12:55 pmBrian & I worked on our kitchen & dining room flooring all weekend so I am paying the (physical) price today but it is SO worth it! The floors look marvelous! Brian is so good when it comes to doing all the figuring & stuff ... yes, B, that makes you my hero! My Mother helped out a ton by doing little things, & more importantly, feeding us lunch.
We still have the closet, pantry & laundry room to go as well as the perimeter sealing & molding before we can truly call it done. We need to borrow a miter saw to do the molding work, but Brian is working on that. (It's a long story that involves a rifle...)
We still have possession of the mama rat & her brood of 7 daughters. Brian suggested that we give our now-adult female back to my Mother so that we can keep TWO rat babies. Both Mom & I have asked Brian which babies he likes, but he doesn't seem to know. He did say he would give it some consideration this evening. The babies have doubled in size (maybe more) while we have had them. They are really active now too.
It sounds as though we might end up making 2 trips to the North Carolina shore this year... once in July with B's family & again in September with our "beach family". Speaking of our beach family, we are headed to NC this weekend for a Mardi Gras party & I just can't wait.
This morning started my 7 am to 4 pm schedule. I was really sound asleep when B woke me up ... I was having some dream about Batman or some such. The VP & I never did have our sit down (SURPRISE!) but she had OK'd the schedule change & I decided to get the ball rolling. I actually came into the office 7:15, so I have some work to do getting here on time.
There is a small animal hospital in Middleburg that needs a manager, I've been emailing with the current manager to set up an appointment. The hospital is about 52 miles from the house; the commute would be about an hour & 15 minutes or so. While I hate the idea of going back to commuting, the thought of getting back to veterinary medicine in any way is a pleasant one.
