A girl's night in
March 15th, 2006 07:30 pmThe ex is spending the evening with his Aunt so I have the whole house to myself tonight. She lives alone & really enjoys his visits so I am glad he is obliging her. Of course, she feeds him well & hands him the remote so I guess he is pretty happy. ~ ha-ha ~
Cooper, our piddling Beagle, has been spitting up a bit lately. He was not very happy to come off of puppy food recently & went from inhaling the puppy kibble to snubbing his nose at the grown up grub. Not wanting to create a finicky eater, I was letting him pick at the food on his terms. With a brief stay at Mom's & other assorted commotion, I am hoping he just got an irritated tummy & nothing more. We're trying some lamb & rice stuff now & he is eating with much more gusto. Time will tell.
Cricket, our freaky rat Terrier, is even more freakier than normal tonight. I showed her the new dog bed I bought for our office; calling her to it & showing her it was an OK place to lay down. She seemed all happy & I figured she would chill on it while I tapped away on the PC. Sounded like a solid plan to me. When I went to the bedroom for something, I turned around just in time to watch Cricket pop up onto OUR bed. I hollered for her to get down, she froze & I had to physically remove her from the bed. She spent the next hour or so hiding in a closet. FREAK!
Yesterday's job interview went well enough, I think. My only regret was the bottom line salary figure I gave; too low me thinks. They are going to do a 3-tiered interview process ... the first interview was with the current hospital manager, the second will be with the two owners & the third would be with the two associates. While the hospital is further away than I would like to have to commute, it might be a good chance at getting back into veterinary medicine on some level. Time to wait & see if I make it to the second go-round.
The ex & I ended up keeping one of the rat babies ... not sure if I have mentioned that or not. This brings our pet population up to 6. Neither rat has a name yet which makes me a bit crazy. How can ya live with something that doesn't have a name? The ex doesn't seem to care for any suggestion that I make, but he doesn't seem to come with any names of his own.
I am finally back on the treadmill again after a too-long hiatus. With not walking for about 3 months, I am having to regain my stamina. Of course, making the time is always a struggle as well.
Did something for the very first time on Monday ... had my upper lip waxed. TMI, I know. It hurt a little, but too bad. I was really happy with the results until I noticed that I was breaking out with these minuscule blister-pimple things all over my upper lip. Gross! Guess I won't be doing that again!
