Went for my annual boob smash (mammogram) yesterday & when the tech saw my zebra tattoo, she commented, "I am going to call you what I call all the other gals I see with one of these."

I braced myself for an anti-tattoo tirade.

Then she said quite genuinely, "Brave! Brave is what you are for getting one of these!"

We went on to have a fun chat about tattoos while she snapped x-rays.

In other news, I had a lovely lunch with a former co-worker. She's working up the courage to visit LiveJournal; I told her it's not so scary. I was shocked & amazed to learn that she had talked with a former client of mine that morning. Not only did he remember me, but I was the first thing he asked about. He was one of the clients that I was given because no one else could deal with him & it was a 'make or break' situation. I had a blast working with him & got a fair amount of his business before he left the agency that he was with.

Our little hunting pack of Beagles is still around. Brian thinks that they may have been abandoned. We'll give it a few more days & then we will have to decide what to do with them. We've been able to touch 3 of the 4, but the 4th little one is so very wary. The first female that showed her face continues to be the friendliest.

Since the weather was so wonderful yesterday, I decided to go hunting out back again. As I walked out the door in full camo & carrying a shotgun, the 4 Beagles perked right up. Uh oh. I knew it was a long shot, but I started walking out back ... only to be followed by the entire lot of them. They seemed quite happy to be following a hunter.

Sigh

I walked back to the house, explaining to the dogs that if they came with me, they would not be helping me one little bit. Putting my gear in the Endeavor, I drove to the back of the neighbor's property to take advantage of a spot that I probably would not have walked to. Actually walking to the spot was not too bad, it was the cold, dark walk home that I was not going to relish.

After finding a nice spot with a good view of the woods, I settled in my chair & thought about how nice it is to hunt in good weather. It wasn't long before the squirrel brigade showed up; at one point, I counted 7 squirrels running amuck around me. Not a deer in sight, of course; I think the whitetail are mocking me this season.

Close to dark, I heard dogs yaulping & knew a deer was somewhere in the general vicinity ... that was until I had 4 shotgun blasts. I sure hope the guy got the deer with all that shooting!
