Where to start on a Wednesday?
May 2nd, 2007 07:45 pmWith my good intentions of writing a little bit every day dashed, here I am on a Wednesday evening trying to play LJ catch up. After some afternoon thunderstorms rolled in, it is hot & muggy & I am still being stubborn about turning on the air conditioning. Of course, if any of you find me slumped over my keyboard, you are not allowed to say "I told you so" in regards to being stubborn OR turning on my AC.
The ex left this morning on his yearly trek to New Hampshire to go turkey hunting with his best buddy, Dick. Dick grew up in New Hampshire, which is why they go there to hunt & not some other state. Dick's friends & family treat the guys very well; in fact one lady makes sure to make a special desert for Brian's birthday. Any birds they shoot are given to one of their hosts; getting them home would be a bit tricky.
The puppies have reached the stage where the amount of work they create for me is almost equal to their cuteness. I say almost because they are such cutie pies. We now have 4 puppies sold out of litter #1, with 2 other families coming to pick out a puppy soon. 2 brave souls will be taking their puppies home this weekend at the ripe old age of 6 weeks.
The two boys of litter #2 are just plain humongous. Their eyes are open but their vision is still a bit blurry. Their mother has taken to jumping out of her pen, so now the whole K-9 family is in a crate. Not the best situation, but it keeps her where she needs to be.
The job at CFC seems to be going well. I am certainly keeping busy with the various ad campaigns we have going on, special events, & learning new software, in addition to becoming a hack graphic designer. Today I learned how to work a cattle chute which I will be adding to my resume soon. If you know anyone who needs a marketing geek with cattle chute knowledge ... I'm your girl!
I'd like to write more, but I have dogs to take care of!
