pandasheart: Panda's Heart (Blue celt pony)
Went to see my oral surgeon this morning so he could check me inside & out.  He's very pleased with how the scar has healed.  He mentioned that he had been very concerned that it would not granulate in all the way, leaving me with a new dimple.  When I told him, unasked, that I had just noticed that the tightness in my cheek was all but gone, his reply was that I had dodged the painful steroid injection.

WOOT!

Inside of my mouth,he was also pleased with what he found; the surgery site is healing well & a bump that is present in the back of my mouth is doing better than he thought too.  (I am pretty sure the bump is from my gum trying to make the wisdom tooth 'go away'.)  I have to return in 4-6 months to have the bump checked again, as well as the scar.  Based on what the scar looks like at that time, we will make a decision on whether or not to have them do a bit of cosmetic surgery to minimize the scar even more.

I am still using the scar ointment once or twice a day & massaging the area whenever I think of it.  The doctor says he thinks that is what the difference.  Me?  I am just SO glad I did not have to get that painful shot!
