Workish update
June 18th, 2008 12:48 pmA little surprise came my way late last week when my 'boss' announced that my annual review would be taking place on Monday (the 16th). Although April was my hire date anniversary, he had let me know back in the early spring that all reviews had been moved to July.
Brian's advice of "Prepare to be disappointed" was the best ever & I took it to heart.
The Readers' Digest Condensed Version is that I got a small raise (still way under what I used to make, but apparently healthy to what others got) & my position has been moved to the next highest "grade". This gave me the perfect opportunity to address the restructuring issue where marketing (and me) were completely overlooked by said 'boss'. He's going to look into it ... stay tuned.
Truly my 'boss' is surprised when I turn these meetings into an opportunity for me ... I firmly believe that reviews are not one-sided affairs.
