Where have all the deer gone?
I had a late afternoon business meeting with some distributor reps. Since they kept moving the time up on me, I let them know that I was walking out of the building promptly at 4:30 to get in the woods. Turns out the big wig of the bunch is a serious hunter & promised me to end the meeting on time.
Yay for understanding business dudes!
Boo for the deer that have disappeared from the woods behind our house!
Actually, I stand corrected, just as the shooting light was deteriorating, I went to swap my broadhead bolt to the one I discharge with. As soon as I got the second bolt in place, I heard a loud snort from fairly close behind me. Sneaky deer!
I swapped bolts again just in case but the light was quickly fading & I could not hear or see any more sign of the deer. Just as I went to swap bolts one last time, I heard another snort, this time behind me & to the right. Sneaky deer!
Giving up, I shot the bolt into the ground to discharge the crossbow & was unable to find the bolt. First bolt lost but it was getting dark fast. I will go back in the day light to look for it again.
