None more white
February 10th, 2010 09:58 amWhen I got out of bed at 7 am and went to the window, all there was to see was white. Not as in "wow, it's really snowing" or "boy, that's a lot of snow" ... we had whiteout conditions! Freaky and pretty all at the same time.
After about an hour, I could see the trees again and whiteout had subsided. We had at least 6 more inches of snow and it is not through with us yet. This time I made sure that I took a shower right away just in case we lose power again.
After a bit of shoveling, I popped some Advil and am sitting down for a spell (by order of my back).
Caught another mouse in the trap overnight. Dear mice, You have 5 acres to play in. Stay out of my garage or you will die.
Much to my complete and utter amazement, a very nice VDOT guy called late yesterday afternoon. They will be replacing my mailbox for me as soon as weather permits. It is nice to see your tax dollars working tangibly for a change.
After chatting with an extremely helpful guy at Chase yesterday, I made the alarming discovery that the mortgage is upside down. Not by much (about $4,000) but it still hurts. Due to the upside-downess, the current mortgage qualifies for the Hart plan. If I can get the ex to agree, I can refinance the house for a much-reduced closing fee, lower the APR by 1 percent and bring my mortgage payment down by $200 a month. By refinancing before the divorce, an assumption would be much easier.
Seems I got a response to one of the resumes I sent out and they want me to come in for an interview on Thursday. Something kinda smells fishy about the company though. Stay tuned.
Treadmill = zero (Doctor's orders!)
