Today's visit with Dr. Truong earned me a slight scolding from the good doctor once she discovered that I had done a bit of shoveling. She says from now on, if I must shovel, I should use a child's beach shovel! This was good for a giggle, of course, but when Dr. Truong started making little shoveling motions as if she was using a tiny shovel, we both cracked up.

As you might have guessed from today's title, I am now allowed wear two shoes and retire my cam boot. YAY! It took me a little while to get accustomed to walking normally again. LOL

Dr. Truong seemed a bit dismayed that I had not experienced a dramatic recovery, but healing from PRP typically peaks by week 6 so there is still time. In order to facilitate the healing she called a nurse in with the "silver tube".

Lo and behold, the silver tube is an acupuncture-type device that pops a smallish needle into the muscle. It causes blood to travel to the area which helps the healing process. Sounds okay. Then she proceeded to pepper my shoulder with at least two dozen needle sticks. Ouchie, but tolerable and it seemed to loosen the shoulder up a bit.

Then she announced she was going to do the same treatment to my foot. Oh my! Instructing me to cough really hard when she said to, she did the first needle. I am not quite sure what sound I made trying to cough and holler "ow" at the same time, but the needle stung like crazy. She did a second one that hurt like holy hell and I can tell you that trying to scream and cough at the same is a truly weird experience. I apologized to Dr. Truong but let her know that there was NO way that I could endure any more needles in my foot.

(She and I talked for a bit about plantar faciitis and, as it turns out, she has suffered through it as well. That is why she has looked hard for a better treatment than cortisone shots.)

No word at all from my lawyer about the settlement agreement. I know the snow has everyone screwed up, but I am getting kind of impatient. With no real warm weather coming in any time soon and more snow due Monday, I have no idea of when the ex will be able to move out at this point. So close but yet so far.

The job interview went really well. So well, in fact, that I was offered the job on the spot. The bad news is that the job is only part time. Working there part time would give me about the same (hopefully not less) money that I am currently receiving on unemployment. So I would loose my benefits, have no health benefits and have to work another job until this one (hopefully) went full time. The company is a one-year old real estate investment firm (they buy cheap houses, fix them up and sell them for a profit). As Marketing Manager, I would be their fourth employee. It sounds so tempting, but it is a huge risk and I have serious doubts that the position would be full time soon. /sigh

Treadmill = zero -- CRAPPITY! I just realized that I completely forgot to ask Dr. Truong if I am allowed to walk on the treadmill again. Sheesh!
