A fabulous Friday
April 9th, 2010 09:51 pmMom and I met up with Auntie Anne and Uncle Joe for lunch at the Fredericksburg Pub. Mom and I got there early and secured the last 6 bottles of pesche lambic. Believe or not, three ladies drank all six bottles! We had a nice time catching up and everyone enjoyed the Shepard's pie. Uncle brought down some cuttings from his fig tree; Mom and I each took three in the hopes that they will grow.
Speaking of trying to make trees grow, I moved four more baby cedar trees this morning while it was still cool.
And cool it was ... after having to put the AC on yesterday, it was around 50 degrees this morning. Mother Nature - please take note - I am not complaining. In fact, I hope it stays nice and cool because I do not think my AC is working properly. << ugh >>
After lunch, Mom and I went to Wegman's where we always find very fun stuff. In the produce section we found purple cauliflower. I knew about the yellow version and I have even eaten broco-flower before. In addition to the purple, they had a bright green variety. All the colors are supposed to taste like the plain old white version. We learned that Wegman's has blueberry wine and very good canoli.
Speaking of grocery stores, I was very sad to learn that the Fredericksburg Ukrops is no more.
One of my projects has been going through my old 3.5 floppies and retrieving anything of value (to me) off them. Reading some of the work I did in college has been fun as well as coming across the odd forgotten email or photo.
In case I have not expressed it recently ... I am SO grateful to my family and friends. You have been such a tremendous help to me in the past six months!
Treadmill = zero (since I was gone all day)
I appears that I have learned where several dog toys have vanished to. Once I moved the dresser in my bedroom to its current location, it left an exposed and un-grated vent. While Mom and I were watching, a Kong ball went right down it. Kerplunk! Hopefully I will be able to retrieve said dog toys with a minimal amount for fuss and tools.
