Spring is back
April 11th, 2010 11:19 pmAlthough the temperature is dipping down at night, the past few days have been quite nice. Spring fever got the best of me this morning and I curled up on the couch and took a little nap. The wood stove was still warm from last night's fire and felt so nice while the morning was still cool.
It seems that Tucker has gotten the creeping kennel crud now. He was spitting up a lot this afternoon just like Duchess did before she got sick. (I am pretty sure now it was the kennel cough and not the nylabone that made Duchess vomit before she started coughing.)
In the frustration department, we have exhibit A, which is me about to play musical shower heads. I have no need to have a shower head up so high in the master bath so I devised a swap system for the three shower heads. All was going smoothly until I needed my channel lock pliers. It seems that the ex took them too. grrrrrrrrr
However, in the win department, we see a certain lady fishing a dog ball out of the duct work in the basement. Thankfully the ball had not gone too far and was easily retrievable. I was also surprised to learn that my duct work is fairly clean.
Mom loaned me a push mower that I was not able to get started when I tried earlier in the week. This evening I was pretty determined to get it going. After making sure the oil and gas were both topped off, I gave it a pull and nothing. Finally it dawned on me that I had to pull the safety lever thingie back when starting it. Heck, I learned to run a push mower so long ago that stuff like that did not exist. Anyhow the mower fired right up and I was able to go over the places in the yard that had grown tall.
Along with neater looking grass and weeds, I raked up more leaves and sticks off the front lawn and carted them away. Tucker probably thinks I am nuts to be "throwing away" perfectly good sticks.
So far all eight of the transplanted cedars are looking great. I'm watering them every day and telling them that they better live since carting water out there is not really fun.
