It should be easy...
April 26th, 2010 10:52 pm... but as
dreamtigress says, "it's never easy!"
A stop at Home Depot educated me on a few things, such as they do not sell the mystery "easy out" tool; that my shower pipe may need a bigger tool than I have anyway; and that some employees really do go beyond the call of duty. The guy I spoke with today in the plumbing department offered that if I could get to his house he would loan me the proper tool for the job. (Sadly I had no earthly idea of where he lived,so I passed.)
Lo and behold, as I was talking to an online buddy tonight who asked about my home improvement projects, I learned that shower pipe is normally 5/8" and NOT 1/2" like the guy at Lowes told me. Pan to a shot of me standing on a step ladder (thanks Mom!) in my shower with a tape measure. Sure enough, the pipe is 5/8" which means the 1/2" internal pipe wrench was never going to work. Argh!
In the "lucky me" department, I was able to snag an appointment with Dr. Truong for my back. She gave me a high five when she learned about my new job, then proceeded to poke my lower back full of holes with trigger point injections. She also gave me a lecture about how to sit when I drive since I will be commuting and also suggested that I use the library to get books on tape so I can learn while I am in the car. Have I mentioned that she treats the whole person?
Once I got home, I set about working on the closet organizer installation. The going was a little slow since the drill needs to be charged often. Just when I could see the light at the end of the do-it-yourself tunnel, I got stuck because I am unable to cut a piece of the heavy closet rod pipe. Tomorrow is another day and it seems that I will be spending some of it in a hardware store!
The dogs are doing well, just a wee bit of coughing when they run around but for the most part they are healthy again.
Treadmill = zero (between being gone and working in my closet, I had no time)
